Every so often, there’s a night in Toronto that feels like it could only happen in Italy — warm air, sparkling lights, music in the distance, and the hum of people coming together to celebrate la dolce vita. That’s exactly what our SERATA x ICFF event at the Distillery District was all about on Friday, July 12th.
After a year of sold-out events, this summer celebration was something truly special — a beautiful fusion of cinema, food, and Italian nightlife, right in the heart of the city.
The evening began in true Serata style — with an aperitivo in hand. Guests wandered through the cobblestone lanes of the Distillery, sampling Italian bites and sips from some of ICFF”s incredible partners: Masi Prosecco, Birra Moretti, Campari, Barilla, Ferrero, Lavazza, and Eataly. Each station offered a taste of Italy, from refreshing bubbles to rich espresso and decadent dolce.
As the sun dipped below the brick façades, the atmosphere shifted to cinematic magic. Under the summer sky, we gathered for an open-air screening of Gioco Pericoloso (Dangerous Game), starring the incredible Elodie — a powerhouse of Italian talent who has seamlessly transitioned from chart-topping singer to captivating actress.
Of course, no SERATA would be complete without a dance floor. As the credits rolled, guests made their way to Illuminarium, where the night transformed once again — this time into a full-fledged Italian festa with Italian inspired images projected onto the floor-ceiling screens.
Immersive light projections, stylish activations, and a steady flow of Italian bites and cocktails set the stage for an unforgettable night. DJ Pulsar kept the crowd moving with a perfect mix of Italian hits — from Sanremo classics to modern dance anthems. There was laughter, dancing, and that irresistible Italian joy that makes time seem to stand still.
One of the highlights of the evening was our fundraising ticket giveaway with Air Canada, which truly embodied the spirit of community that SERATA stands for. Together, we gave guests the chance to win two round-trip tickets to Italy, while raising funds for a cause close to our hearts. All proceeds from the giveaway were donated to SickKids Toronto, specifically to support their Music Therapy Program — a beautiful initiative that uses the healing power of music to bring comfort, creativity, and joy to young patients. Seeing our guests come together to celebrate Italian culture and give back to our local community was deeply moving — a perfect reflection of how music and connection can truly make a difference.
SERATA x ICFF captured the full spectrum of Italian culture today — a blend of tradition, innovation, and artistry. To everyone who joined us at the Distillery: grazie mille! You made this night one for the books. And to those who missed it — stay tuned. SERATA has plenty more in store, with new ways to experience Italy right here in Toronto.Until next time — see you on the dance floor, prosecco in hand!
